I'm not used to having my photo taken and feel awkward in front of the camera, help!?

We totally understand and will guide you through each step of the way (and have some fun, too!)

Will there be a specific time assigned for my photo?

Yes, we will e-mail your assigned time slot after ticket sales close, generally 24-48 hours prior to the Pop-Up.

Can I request a specific photo time?

Yes, if you have time restraints please e-mail us at least 48 hours prior to the Pop-Up so we can accommodate your needs.

What should I wear?

Wear absolutely whatever reflects your personal style and makes you feel confident + comfortable. If you have a specific use in mind for your photos, let that guide the outfit decision as well. Photos are shot waist up, so focus on the shirt/top.

Can I wear two outfits?

No, The Portrait Pop-Up is only for one outfit. That said, you are welcome to add one accessory during your shoot. We've had people add glasses, hats, scarves or blazers. If you'd like two outfits, you should book a one-on-one portrait session with Tory here or come back for another Pop-Up in a different outfit.

Can you take photos of my significant other/friend and me at the Pop-Up?

No, Portrait Pop-Ups are for individual shots, but we LOVE shooting photos of you with your families, significant others, friends and pets too. Send us a note here to schedule a session that accommodates pairs or groups. 

My friend doesn't want to have photos taken, can they still join for the event?

This differs by Pop-Up location, but generally we can make it work. Shoot us a note in advance and we'll let you know.

Something came up and I now can't make it to the Pop-Up, can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds within 30 days of the event. That said, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else by e-mailing us with their name and e-mail.

How many photos will I receive?

We will send you five, lightly edited photos. 

Can you send all the photos you took for me to choose from?

No, we will select and lightly edit five photos from our time spent shooting together. We are able to keep Portrait Pop-Up prices very low through this modified, mini portrait process, so we do not do any proofing or photo selections after Pop-Ups. If you'd like more photos to choose from, we suggest booking a portrait session here.

Can you edit my photos to make my _____ look _____?

No, we do not heavily retouch Pop-Up images and love natural beauty. That said, we know blemishes and bruises happen, so can usually edit them out if you let us know.

When and how will I get my photos?

We'll send them to the e-mail you used to purchase your ticket 2-3 weeks after the event.

I need my photos immediately, can you send them sooner?

Yes, if you let us know prior to the shoot we can likely arrange a rush delivery at an additional fee.

I want to join the next Pop-Up, but would like to be there for the next one. When will it be announced?

We generally host a Pop-Up in San Francisco every 1-2 months. We aim to always have one San Francisco Pop-Up available on the website. To stay updated on upcoming Pop-Ups, sign-up here to be notified by e-mail as they are announced.

Will The Portrait Pop-Up be visiting my city?

We love taking The Portrait Pop-Up on the road, and we'd love to visit your city! In other cities we need one person on the ground to help with coordination and promotion, if your your business is up for it please fill out this form.
