Meet Shannon! I have known Shannon for as long as I can remember (since she and my older brother became good buds in kindergarten!) and love having this fabulous fellow Omaha native here in San Francisco. Read on for more about her gig building business strategy for restaurants and food brands, side hustle at a brand new SF yoga studio... and some special shout-outs to our hometown too!
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and lived in Oklahoma and Texas in my early 20s. I think it's perfectly normal to pair a Texas brisket with a green juice (although Shiner is still preferred).
We know you work with food and restaurant brands, teach yoga... tell us more!
I work at The Culinary Edge with an extremely talented group of people who put together business strategies for food and restaurant brands.
Get ready for the heat, the play, and the transformation -- Baptiste Yoga San Francisco is opening its doors on November 2! I first found Baptiste yoga while living in Dallas and became a 200 hour RYT at YogaSport under Angela Wagner's leadership. I was on the hunt to find a Baptiste studio the moment I moved to SF, so I'm thrilled to be a part of this community and hope to see you on the mat soon.
If anyone visits our hometown of Omaha, Nebraska - what would you tell them are the can't-miss spots?
Omaha love because #wedontcoast:
1. M's Pub: My husband and I went here for our "First date" aka sophomore year homecoming #swoon
2. Grey Plume: Chef-owner, Clayton Chapman, is redefining people's perceptions of Nebraska cuisine
3. Runza: Midwest soul food
Big thanks to Shannon for joining the first Portrait Pop-Up! (Oh, and go check out her TEDx talk!)
